Direct Low Pressure fire suppression System , FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM , Electrical Panels tube based automatic fire gas suppression system
01-Dec-2025
The Direct Low Pressure (DLP) Fire Suppression System for Server Racks is a compact, fast-acting automatic fire suppression solution designed to protect server racks and IT cabinets at the earliest stage of fire. This system uses heat-sensitive polymer tubing (LHS tube) installed inside the server rack, which continuously monitors temperature and acts as both detector and discharge medium.
In the event of a fire caused by electrical faults, overheating cables, short circuits, or equipment failure, the tubing ruptures at the hottest point and releases the clean agent fire suppressing gas such as Novec 1230, FM-200, or CO2 directly onto the fire source. The direct discharge mechanism ensures rapid suppression with no water, no residue, and minimal downtime.
The DLP server rack fire suppression system effectively controls Class A, B, and C fires and is safe for sensitive electronics. Designed as per NFPA-2001 and BIS fire safety standards, it is ideal for data centers, server rooms, network racks, telecom cabinets, UPS racks, and edge computing facilities, providing reliable, space-saving, and maintenance-efficient fire protection.
The DLP system is a compact, automatic, and self-activating fire suppression technology designed to detect and extinguish fires right at the point of origin inside server racks.
A DLP system uses a flexible heat-sensing polymer tube installed throughout the server rack. This tube performs two functions:
Fire Detection
Fire Suppression
When a fire starts, the tube bursts at the exact spot where the temperature rises sharply, releasing the extinguishing agent directly onto the flames. This ensures instant suppression before the fire spreads.
Continuous Monitoring
The tube is pressurized and detects temperature changes in real time.
Fire Ignition
At 150–180°C, the section of the tube exposed to the fire weakens.
Tube Burst
The tube ruptures at the hottest point and converts into a discharge nozzle.
Agent Discharge
Clean agent or CO2 is released directly on the fire, suppressing it within seconds.
This makes the system faster than conventional smoke detectors or sprinkler systems.
Fire Engineering Technology provides multiple agent options based on rack design and fire risk:
FK-5-1-12 (Novec Substitute) – Safe for electronics, leaves no residue
HFC-227ea (Clean Agent)
CO2 – For non-occupied enclosed electrical zones
ABC Dry Powder – Budget-friendly option
All agents are suitable for typical data center, IT, and telecom environments.
